ACTIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT, PROBATION & CORRECTIONS ONLY
We recommended our foundational “Informant Development” course first, but not mandatory.
This eight-hour course will focus on informant management and decision making as a handler. Once an informant is “signed-up” to assist with investigations, the responsibility and liability falls on the Informant Handler and their agency. Training and managing informants, reliability issues, operational management and safety from conception to conclusion, debriefing informants, report writing and testifying in court will all be examined. Additionally, administrative responsibilities including payment documentation, maintaining files, and letters of consideration will be covered.
Students will get hands-on experience as a handler in controlled informant operation scenarios.
This is an excellent course for anyone involved in Corrections, Investigations, Supervisors, Custody Personnel, Patrol Officers and anyone who deals with informants or personnel working in a Prosecution Unit.
